WHO WE ARE
Boxer Rescue of Texarkana is a Non Profit, small Boxer rescue that started on January 1, 2012. Our mission is to rescue Boxers in need, get them vetted, healthy and ready to go to their Forever Homes. BRT rescues from kill shelters and owner surrenders in AR, LA, OK, and TX when we have space and funds. Our Boxers live indoors with a Foster family until they are adopted. They evaluate and work on training and getting them ready to be adopted. Our Foster Homes are in Texarkana, Hot Springs, Cabot, and El Dorado.
WE NEED FOSTER HOMES
The more Foster Homes we have the more Boxers we can rescue! We pay the vet bills and the boxer lives indoors with your family until they are adopted. We do not know what timeline that is going to be when you get the Boxer to foster. We are not able to do foster homes in some areas due to the higher Vet expenses. We also have to have support where the Foster Homes are located by our experienced Foster Parents and Volunteers.
ABOUT OUR BOXERS
Our rescue Boxers are spayed/neutered, up to date on all shots/rabies, microchipped, fecal/heartworm tested, and on heartworm prevention. They have heartworm treatment and other medical care as needed. We require all pets of the Adopter to be spayed/neutered, up to date on shots/rabies and on heartworm prevention. Our adoption fees are based on ages and go towards helping pay vet bills.
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN ADOPTING OR FOSTERING?
We REQUIRE an Adoption or Foster Application to be completed. We check Vet and personal references and a home visit to assure us that the Boxer is the best fit for your home. We require a safe fenced in yard to keep the Boxers safe when they are outside and to give them an area to expand their energy to run and play. ADOPTABLE DOGS will give you a link to their Petfinder page description and should answer most of your questions. If you are want to adopt, go ahead and complete the application if you meet the Requirements. If you ask us if a Boxer is available you may lose the opportunity to adopt if an application comes in before yours. However we do look for the best home and not by the date of your Application. We work hard to keep our website and Petfinder updated if there is an app Pending or get them off when Adoptable when that happens. We don’t keep a list of people interested in a Boxer with specific ages or colors, as we work from approved applications. This rescue is run by Volunteers who most have full-time jobs and busy lives with family, so please be patient with us.
